This model shows the global carbon cycle (in Gigatons of carbon per year), with estimated natural fluxes. Developed by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
To demonstrate how the global carbon cycle works that might lead to development of solutions to combat the impact of climate change.

TEACHING NOTES / CONTEXT FOR USE
The Earth Systems Modeling can be used as a visual to demonstrate the global carbon cycle to assist with better understanding of carbon in the environment and its influence on changing the climate. This understanding of how the carbon cycle works will assist in developing strategies to mitigate the impact of climate change.
Assessment is at the discretion of the educator and how the model is applied.
