10.8 MB

Informative audio narration accompanies this visualization of 220 years of temperature changes on Earth. An animated graph and rotating globe incorporate surface temperature data from 23 climate models. This is a super computer animation.

GOALS

To visually demonstrate the earth's temperature and changing climate over 220 years.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING MATERIALS

Watch>>  Climate Simulation : 220 Years of Global Warming

TEACHING NOTES / CONTEXT FOR USE

To demonstrate how scientists detemine temperature changes from the 1880's to 2099 through the use of various climate models and super computer simulations.

ASSESSMENT

Assessment is at the descretion of the educator and how this simulation is applied.

REFERENCES AND RESOURCES

This work was performed under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Energy by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
