SUMMARY
3D, 5.2 MB
This 3D simulation shows the plumes from Los Angeles and San Francisco for the first week in 2006.
GOALS
To demonstrate how air circulation transport fossil fuels emissions and other pollutants.
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING MATERIALS
Plumes of CO2 from fossil fuel combustion are blown by the wind over surrounding areas.
Fossil fuels are devoid of the carbon-14 isotope, so fossil fuel emissions can be tracked by measuring the dilution of carbon-14 in the atmosphere.
TEACHING NOTES / CONTEXT FOR USE
Cellular phone version 0.4MB

ASSESSMENT
Assessment is at the descretion of the educator and how the simulation is applied.
