In November 1995 Climate Central's Shari Bell (then with CNN), traveled to Chernobyl in the Ukrainian republic, as part of the CNN team reporting on the lingering effects of the disaster nearly a decade after the explosion.  On the eve of the 25th anniversary of the accident, this is how she remembers the trip.

TEACHING NOTES / CONTEXT FOR USE

This slideshow could be used in or out of class to educate about the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Students can discuss the safety of nuclear power and whether they think the risks are worth the benefit.
