By compiling data from NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, which monitors global surface temperatures, NASA was able to create this short but extremely interesting video showing how temperatures worldwide have been decreasing since 1880. Red indicates temperatures above the baseline while blue indicates below.
To show how much global temperatures have risen in the past century or so and the more significant increase that has been seen in the last several decades.

This can be used to generate discussion about the dramatic increase in temperature in the past few decades and overall in the last 131 years, the causes of this increase, the potential consequences, and what must be done to reverse this trend.
